North Jutland is characterized by close collaboration across geography and disciplines. This tradition forms the foundation for cooperation in CO2Vision.

The CO2Vision collaboration consists of a strong consortium whose members include businesses, educational and research institutions, labor market partners, and network organizations within business development. In total, nine organizations form the consortium, along with more than 50 companies and organizations participating in the project.

What unites us is our shared goal of fulfilling CO2Vision’s ambition to make North Jutland an international frontrunner in CO2 capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). We achieve this through a holistic approach, where technological maturation and testing, the development of future green education programs, business guidance, and employee skills development go hand in hand. This fulfills both the ambition for a greener future and a business adventure for small, medium, and large enterprises.

CO2Vision is one of eight designated business beacons in Denmark. The lighthouses are key strategic initiatives in the 2021-2027 programs, designated by the Ministry of Industry, Business, and Financial Affairs and its agencies. A steering group has been established within the CO2Vision Business Lighthouse to advocate for the initiative at a political level. The steering group serves as the highest organizational body, overseeing a consortium that includes a broad range of stakeholders—governmental, regional, and private actors—who are working together to develop the business lighthouse into an international benchmark.

Private companies and public stakeholders have joined forces in an ambitious consortium to drive North Jutland’s business lighthouse forward. The goal is to establish a completely new industry focused on CO2 capture, storage, and utilization.

Denmark’s Business Promotion Board supports the development of North Jutland’s business lighthouse with funding from the EU and the Just Transition Fund.

The Steering Group

The steering group’s primary task is to ensure long-term national support for CO2Vision, with a focus on the full scope of initiatives outlined in the national partnership agreement. The partnership agreement establishes and defines the framework for collaboration in developing the business lighthouse. The steering group continuously assesses the need for optimal financing and regulation to ensure the realization of the business lighthouse and communicates these requirements to the government, particularly through meetings within the national partnership.

The Consortium

The composition and structure of the consortium ensure that North Jutland’s lighthouse initiative is deeply rooted across the region, with strong local ownership and support. Additionally, it secures a broad foundation of expertise, knowledge, and innovation. The consortium operates efficiently with a well-structured collaboration model. When forming the consortium, it was essential to ensure that its partners complement each other and build upon well-established collaboration networks. Each partner plays a distinct role in the lighthouse’s development, providing the necessary resources for the process and contributing to the existing business development ecosystem.
